When I first found myself reading The Queen of the Tearling, I wasn't sure I would enjoy it.

The Queen of the Tearling is a wonderful novel. If Johansen carries on the way she does, the series is sure to be well deserving of the epic fantasy tag.

There is so much to love about Erika Johansen’s novel and very little to dislike. Her characters are realistic, mysterious, and even fun.
