Bookreporter : A Burnable Book (February 21, 2014)

The best part of A Burnable Book, apart from the characters, is the mystery itself. First, it’s a mystery about a book --- what reader doesn’t love that? Second, thanks to the cast of characters, the book passes through so many hands that even the people who know the truth about the book aren’t aware of what’s happening.

Puzzlemeisters, though, will love this. As will anyone who wants to sink into the sights and sounds of medieval England, a world that rises up here in all its strangeness — and its surprising similarities to our own era.

As a reader, I had to decide if I wanted to dive into all that muck, enjoy its nastiness and fragrant authenticity. By the end of this jam-packed tapestry of medieval England, I found that I did.
