Cleave does have the ability to figure out and elegantly describe the workings of the human mind, but that talent is too quiet to be heard above the rest of this novel.

Cleave can write a fine sentence, but this book has some serious clunkers.

Go for Gold if you want to enter into some Olympic spirit via the ups and downs of a tight-knit group of characters.
